The following table provides information about issues and limitations that are known in this release. It also provides guidelines and workarounds to avoid or overcome issues when possible.

7.1.9.6

Issue Description and Workaround
CC-18563 Creating Subordinate / HA Local with different DNS Domain creates incorrect entry in cloudfs

7.1.5.0 - 7.1.9.4

Issue

Description and Workaround

CC-16755

Starting with CloudFS 7.1.5.0, the stored format of the enable password used for enabling filer configuration changes in the Admin CLI account has changed. Customers who changed the enable password in 7.1.5.0 or deployed a new 7.1.5.0 system and are considering downgrading to a lower Panzura Freedom Filer | Release Notes 10 release must contact support for resetting the configuration enable password to the old format.

Revit Performance

Note: Customers experiencing performance degradation with Revit application should disable read-only claim option in SMB.

1. Login to the filer.

2. Select Maintenance > Diagnostic Tools.

3. In the Command Type field enter smb-add-gcfg.

4. In the Parameters field enter pz_replock roclaim enabled = no.

5. In the Command Type field enter Restart-smb-service.

6. Repeat this for each filer in the CloudFS.

CC-11282

Downgrade from 7.1.x to 6.3.x using the WebUI is not supported.

RFE-30

Turn off “block pop-ups” in the Firefox browser when importing web certificates.

CC-10849

Users encountering file locking issues with Rhino modeling software should set pz_share mode super mask = No using Maintenance > Diagnostics Tools In the Command Type select smb-add-cfg In Parameters enter pz_share mode super mask = No For assistance contact support.

CC-10730

In certain environments, launching Adobe Illustrator CS6 may be slow due to the application rescanning for associated files.

CC-10274

The 7.1.3.0 release changed the default sysctl state to enabled for sysctl to enable master snapshot workaround.

CC-9698

Users will not be able to proceed if they enter a leading space in the Master Filer Hostname field for Subordinate or HA Global configuration in the Role Setting page of the setup wizard. Check for leading spaces and fix the error for the Next button to appear; an incorrect validation message is displayed.

CC-7414

Users should not disable/delete the VIP configuration after a takeover.

CC-7202

If Auto Failover was enabled, downgrading to an earlier release in which it is not supported removed the entire HA-Local configuration. To work around this issue, disable Auto Failover before downgrading.

CC-6319

In an Auto Failover configuration, if a clear content operation is performed from both the active and standby filers, both filers came up in standby state. To work around this issue, disable Auto Failover before performing a clear content and enable Auto Failover after the filer boots up.

CC-4622

If IPMI driver consumes 100% CPU, reboot the filer and see if the problem is resolved. If not, upgrade the iDRAC firmware and see if the problem is resolved. If you still experience high CPU utilization, call support.

CC-5417

When deploying a Panzura CloudFS OVA , changing the VM resources prior to powering on the VM will cause vSphere to remove the resources that have not been changed. Panzura recommends changing the VM resources Panzura Freedom Filer | Release Notes 11 (CPU / memory / network / SCSI) after completing the setup wizard process.

21039

Customers must configure bandwidth limits to cover the full 24x7 time frame without any time gaps when upgrading to 7.x from 6.x, if partial bandwidth limits are set or if only the default settings are used.

CC-4161, 21069

When editing an NFS exports file on a Mac, the TextEdit will automatically change the double quotation marks from “"” to “. This causes the WebUI to incorrectly process the exports file. As a workaround, disable the Smart quotes option, either in System Preferences > Keyboard or the preference section in the text editor.

CC-4131, 21045

Encrypted cloud buckets are not supported since Panzura already encrypts the data written to cloud storage.

20800

You cannot manually retrieve added disks to the VM after resetting to factory defaults.

CC-2724

In an Azure Government cloud, a hostname does not resolve to an IP address. To allow the Panzura Azure Government cloud connector to communicate with blob storage, add the following entry to /etc/ hosts for usgovcloudapi.net: 127.0.0.1 usgovcloudapi.net

15398

If the cloud bucket becomes full, some metrics on the dashboard might not present correct information.

15359

The capitalization used when first configuring the filer hostname persists for all CloudFS configuration operations. You cannot change the capitalization at a later time; however, you can change to a different hostname.

13243

If an expansion shelf is power cycled while the filer remains online, the filer will hang when the shelf powers up. A reboot of the filer does not resolve the issue.

12921

Getting red minus icon from the folders or directories on Mac OS 10.11 El Capitan. This issue can be alleviated by applying the following workaround on a per-user basis. This workaround adds a configuration file that turns off the directory cache. Applying the workaround requires the OSX client to disconnect from the Panzura share. After the workaround is applied, the OSX client can reconnect to the Panzura share. To use the workaround, follow these steps:

1. Log in to the affected client.

2. Disconnect from Panzura shares.

3. In the Finder menu, select Go > Go to Folder.

4. Type or copy and paste the path: ~/Library/Preferences/

5. Copy and paste file nsmb.conf to this folder.

6. To create nsmb.conf using TextEdit:

a. Open TextEdit.

b. In the TextEdit menu, under Format, select Make Plain Text

c. Paste the contents to a file.

Note: Copy only the contents between the Begin and End lines.

--- Begin File ----

# Filename: nsmb.conf

# Place at: ~/Library/Preferences/

[default] dir_cache_async_cnt=0

dir_cache_max_cnt=0 dir_cache_max=0

dir_cache_min=0 --- End File -----

d. Save the changes.

e. Deselect the checkbox. Note: If no extension is provided, use ".txt".

g. Save as nsmb.conf.

h. Click Save.

7. Reattach the Panzura shares.

Note: This workaround affects only the individual user and needs to be applied on a per-user basis. The workaround will apply this configuration to all SMB shares that are in use by the user. If there are non-Panzura shares in use and you do not want to have the fix extend to those shares, it is possible to limit the fix. Contact Panzura Support for assistance (support@panzura.com).

12307

In one-arm mode, ACKs to the LAN TCP packets can be stuck behind the WAN traffic. This could lead to a significant performance degradation for the SMB clients.
