Panzura Data Services Scheduled Tasks

Scheduled tasks monitor the progress of Data Services tasks that do not complete immediately.

Currently, scheduled tasks include:

  • Exporting the search results for Global Search, File Audit, and Recovery & Clone
  •  Recovery and cloning of files and directories through the Recovery & Clone service

The progress of the tasks that are scheduled in the Scheduled Tasks service are shown in the In Progress notification area, and when the tasks are completed, completion notifications are issued in the Notifications menu.

Scheduled Tasks: Exports

Various services and their features in the Data Service provide users with the option for exporting their data. These tasks are scheduled as results are potentially data-heavy:

  • Global Search service: the search results
  • File Audit service: the audit search results
  • File Audit: the audit results
  • Recovery & Clone: the search results

The information provided for each export task is as follows:

  • File Name: which is the name of the file that is exported, and consists of the Data Services’ service from which data is exported, plus the date, and the time of the creation of the file. The exported data are downloadable zipped files
  • Started Timestamp, which is the timestamp for when the export task is initiated
  • Status, which shows the status of the tasks, indicating whether they are in progress or completed
  • % Complete, which presents the percentage of the task progression, when the status is not completed yet

Users can download the exported files for each task using the Download button. It must be noted that the exported file will be available for download on Data Services only for 24 hours. Also, users can select any item from the list of export tasks in the Scheduled Tasks page, and delete them through the Actions menu.

Scheduled Tasks: Recovery & Clone

In the Recovery & Clone service, when files or directories are selected for being recovered to their original paths or cloned to different ones, the actual processes for such recoveries or clones are managed through the Scheduled Tasks service, for the monitoring of their progress and completion, and  under Recovery Tasks.

The information provided for each Recovery & Clone service’s export tasks are as follows:

  • Recovery Task Name: which shows the names that are assigned to the recovery or clone tasks in the Recovery & Clone service
  • Started Timestamp, which is the timestamp for when the export task is initiated
  • Status, which shows the status of the tasks, indicating whether they are in progress or completed
  • % Complete, which presents the percentage of the task progression, when the status is not completed yet

Users can select any item from the list of Recovery Tasks in the Scheduled Tasks page and delete them through the Actions menu.
